Comfort Care Directory – Privacy Policy
Website: https://comfortcaredirectory.com
Comfort Care Directory, an assumed business name of Earthclick.net LLC (“the Directory”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), is committed to protecting the privacy of all users of our platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information provided by Families and Service Providers (collectively, “users”). Because our platform serves individuals and families during sensitive life circumstances — including serious illness, end-of-life care, and grief — we take data privacy especially seriously.
By using this Directory, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Directory.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to:
- Families: Individuals or households who access the Directory to search for and connect with Service Providers.
- Service Providers: Independent caregivers, practitioners, or agencies who register for a free or paid listing in the Directory.
- Businesses: Independent businesses who register for a paid listing in the Directory and who offer services to Service Providers or other businesses.
2. Information We Collect
From Families
We do not ask families for any information. There is no family account, no waitlist, and no message board. When you find a provider here, you contact them directly — their contact details are on their listing, and we are not in the middle of that conversation. We never see it. What we do collect is what any website collects to stay online: your IP address and browser information, used for security and spam prevention, and a cookie recording your consent choice.
From Service Providers and Businesses
Under the categories California law uses, this information is: identifiers, commercial information, internet or other electronic network activity, geolocation data, professional or employment-related information, and audio, electronic, visual or similar information.
- Name, business name, contact details, business and service details, and location information, including profile photos and any images uploaded to the Directory, and other information that would help create a successful profile advertisement.
- Community Portal activity, posts, and forum contributions.
- Membership and billing information, processed through a third-party payment processor (see Section 6).
- Affiliate program information, if you join — your application, your referral link and the referral activity attributed to it, commissions earned, and the payment details you provide so we can pay you, as well as sensitive personal information.
- IP address and browser/device information.
We collect all data directly from you, except IP and device information, which your browser sends automatically, and referral activity, which our affiliate system records when someone uses your referral link. We do not verify qualifications, licensing, or certification information provided by you.
Software provided by the Directory (the “Comfort Care App”, or “App”)
- The App stores Service Provider customer name, contact information, and other data relevant to the relationship between Service Provider and their customer. Data is stored in a third party database unaffiliated with the Directory, and is access-restricted to the Service Provider or to Directory administrators under strictly controlled circumstances.
- Data entered by the Service Provider is not available or accessible publicly.
- Service Provider customer information will be deleted when a Service Provider’s membership in the directory is cancelled or terminated, according to dates described in the Terms of Service.
- Service Providers can initiate reminder emails to their customers and clients through the App. Emails are supported with standard software and are unencrypted.
- Service Provider or Business is wholly responsible for data entered and stored in the App.
3. Sensitive Information
Given the nature of our platform, users may voluntarily share sensitive personal information related to health conditions, end-of-life circumstances, grief, or caregiving needs. We treat all such information with the highest level of care and confidentiality. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise monetize sensitive personal information. Such information is used only to facilitate connections between Families and Service Providers and to improve Directory services.
We may also require affiliates to provide us with government identifiers necessary for tax compliance.
Users are encouraged to share only the information necessary to facilitate their use of the Directory and should avoid sharing unnecessary medical details in public-facing profile areas or forums.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and maintain the Directory and community.
- Create, manage, and display Service Provider listings.
- Facilitate connections between Families and Service Providers.

5. How We Share Your Information
We may share user information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With Directory staff, contractors, and vendors: Employees, contractors, service vendors, government agencies, and accounting and/or tax professionals may access data solely to operate, improve, and support the Directory. All such parties are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- With third-party service providers: We use vendors for hosting, payment processing, email communication, and spam detection. These vendors process data only as necessary to provide their services and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
- As required by law: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority.
- Public directory listings: Service Provider profile information submitted for directory listing (name, specialty, location, contact details, photo) is visible to the public by design. Service Providers should not include sensitive personal information in their public profiles.
6. Payment Processing
Membership fees are processed through a third-party payment processor. The Directory does not directly store credit card numbers or full payment details. Payment data is handled in accordance with the payment processor’s own privacy and security policies. Service Providers should review the applicable processor’s privacy policy for details on how billing information is managed.

- Family contact data, if collected, is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the stated purpose.
- Community forum posts may be retained to maintain the integrity and continuity of the community, even after account closure, unless deletion is specifically requested.

10. Your Rights Over Your Data
All users have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable law.
